WRAP SEMINAR I

The Mental Health Recovery and WRAP Seminar I can enhance your overall mental wellbeing, as well as complement you with other wellness ideas of your choice, such as weight management, smoking cessation, and work/life balance. Anyone who completes this training will be able to apply the Key Concepts of Recovery into their daily lives, identify tools and action plans to counter negative life challenges, improve responses to disturbing thoughts and feelings, and describe the history and foundations of the Wellness Recovery Action Plan. This training automatically qualifies individuals to take the five-day WRAP II: Facilitator Training.

WRAP SEMINAR II

WRAP SEMINAR II:
FACILITATOR TRAINING

This certificate course is co-facilitated by Certified Advanced Level Facilitators, using a five-day agenda. Participants are provides with the WRAP Facilitator Manual, and will learn how to use the manual to facilitate WRAP workshops, while adhering to the principles and values of WRAP. This workshop is available to anyone who has completed WRAP Seminar I.

WORKPLACE POLITICS

WORKPLACE POLITICS AND ETHICAL DECISION MAKING

This is a training to support staff in developing and maintaining appropriate boundaries in service provision, and to explore and clarify ethical dilemmas.  In this training, learners will explore power and power differentials, including intersectionality and the implications of access to systemic power and privilege. The SAMHSA Prevention Code of Ethics will be used to examine service practices and policies. The training draws on Mowbray’s work on the distinction between traditional hierarchical boundaries and those appropriate to Peer Support.  Learners will practice assessing and making decisions about boundaries and dual relationships.

GROUP FACILITATION

UNWRAPPING THE ART OF GROUP FACILITATION

Participants in this workshop will learn the stages of group development, how to navigate group challenges, and to understand the role of group members in the group process. Participants will learn the critical approach of Responding vs. Reacting.

POWER OF LANGUAGE

Learners in this workshop will examine individual attitudes that create barriers to effective communication and explore the use of appropriate recovery language.

STORYTELLING

STORYTELLING

Participants will learn to tell their stories of recovery from a strength-based perspective, by identifying the barriers to recovery they have confronted and how they overcame them. Participants will learn the value of incorporating a message of hope and meaning in their individual story. Participants will be guided in presenting their stories in compelling narratives that can inspire and an audience and promote the idea that recovery is not only possible but inevitable.

RACIAL EQUALITY

RACIAL EQUALITY AND BEING CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE

Workshop participants will explore the importance of culture in a recovery center approach by exploring the concepts of racial equality. The purpose of this workshop is to guide learners toward a greater sense of cultural sensitivity.

CHANGE

UNDERSTANDING THE
STAGES OF CHANGE

The purpose of this training is to help the individual identify their own experience with change by exploring a comprehensive framework of the stages of change. Ultimately, the individual will be engaged in processing what stage of change they are in through engagement and dialogue.

Whether you are preparing to be a professional trainer or you are someone who does a bit of training as part of their job, you always want to be prepared.
